Really great location / directly opposite the main Taormina bus station - buses straight to the airport and the hop on hop off buses easy reach. Walking to the Main Umberto high street is only 5 or so minutes and the cable car down to isola Bella is closer still. We had a superior room with balcony and the view was incredible. The breakfast for 10 euros a day was very nice and the home made cannoli were to die for! Salvatore and team were so friendly and welcoming and gave some great tips on what to do around town.

Location was good, only short 5 min walk to the centre, the bus station was directly across from the hotel, which could get very noisy but I knew this in booking so accepted the situation.

The view from the bedroom was gorgeous. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel was close to the centre of Taormina and within easy walking distance as was the cable car to the beach, yet it was quiet at night. The view from our room and small balcony was beautiful. The bathroom had a great shower and room and bathroom clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty and the breakfast room had wonderful views over the sea.

“Ambiance” with a capital A! Villa Astoria is a Beautiful place with a handy location, adjacent to all the attractions of the city. Most outstanding of all during our stay was the attitude of all the efficient and friendly staff. They were marvellous!! The location is fantastic. It’s across from the bus terminal which is handy for travelling to and from the airport - I didn’t have to traipse luggage around. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Corso Umberto and a short walk to the funicular which takes you to and from the beach. My room had a lovely view which I appreciated each morning when I woke up. The room itself was quite basic, and could have been improved with a few upgrades such as new shower doors, soap holder etc in the shower. The shower doors would get stuck on me each time, and the soap holder was hanging off a little. However, none of these things really mattered because I was so delighted with the hotel overall, and I was so happy to be in Taormina. My room was beautifully cleaned every day and smelled like fresh lemons when I arrived back after a few hours at the beach. I think it’s the staff which makes this place truly special. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. After checking out, I learned that there were bus strikes and no buses were going to the airport. I was obviously panicked as I didn’t want to miss my fight. It was pouring with rain and after about 30 mins I went back to reception at the hotel who called a local taxi for me and two other guests who were also flying home. They kept updating us with arrival times for the taxi too. I really felt taken care of. I would definitely stay again and I’d be happy to recommend this place to friends.
