The fine print
From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Effective from 1 July 2022, please note that there will be a Local Government Fee of MYR 3 per room night imposed by the City Council of Penang. This payment is not included in the room rate and should be made upon check-in at Mercure Penang Beach.
Please note that the property does not accept third party payment cards. Please present the same credit card used to guarantee your booking when checking in / making payment at the hotel. If you are making payment using another cardholder's credit card, kindly provide the following to the hotel prior to your arrival: 1) Authorization letter with cardholder's signature 2) Copy of the cardholder's card (front and back of card with cardholder's signature) Please note that hotel may contact the cardholder for verification purposes. For security purposes, credit cards use for Non-Refundable bookings must also be presented when checking in.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

I like your hotel very much. Mercure Penang beach. The hotel room and environment are clean and comfortable... I like the view of the sea outside the window of your hotel room...👍The seaside and the beach are very relaxing and comfortable... I have no regrets choosing your mercure Penang beach hotel 👍👍👍👍The service staff are also very good👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️

Like: proximity to beaches, cafes, hawker food. Hotel is built on site that I frequented when I was a child. Brought back fond memories.

Room was clean and quiet. You can see that facilities are bit old, but if you can accept that, then no problem. Breakfast never tried. Location was excellent, just the front of the sea and walking distance from several excellent reastaurants.

The hotel room is satisfying overall, but it's a normal hotel with a normal setting. It has good views of the sea, which may be its selling point, and it was my choice because it was the closest one to the beach without having to travel to Batu Ferringi and get stuck in traffic. I'm glad it was also close to George Town. The parking at the hotel is limited, but you can park at the residential area next door, and it will be waived.

The property is good ,but when I ask reception to get the room view of the beach and their inform as additional pay for the room look like scam kind of information.but you get room at other side a lot noise when at night
