It is a little bit isolated so if you are looking for that, this is the place to be. For us, it was not the best location and the area to swim is not the best if you are travelling with little kids. The breakfast was really nice though.

Staff didn’t seem overly invested in being there which is fine but we are at the restaurant a few times. One night when we arrived at 8pm it was closed. The staff were asked if there was anywhere else / near we could eat and they said “you pay, we tell”. It’s just another example of Sri Lanka trying to treat a tourist like a cash cow. I would understand if we hadn’t been good customers up to that point but they closed early and weren’t helpful. The dogs outside / around are a highlight of staying there and the place is so quiet and pretty that you’ll get over any staff issues. The mangrove also has kayaks you can use and that’s a great addition (and free)

Perfect location. Beautiful setting, very relaxing atmosphere. Big rooms, great veranda. Helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Not many people. The food/drinks in the bar were not overpriced.

This place was wonderful! It is right at the beach and so peaceful. Top#1 of every place I have ever stayed. Everyhting was perfect.

What an incredible place. All-inclusive 5* atmosphere but with the freedom to tour the whole coastline and visit other hotels. Phenomenal to say the least. Rooms we amazing with great space for a family of four. Immaculate in attention to detail which steps out onto the most beautiful coastline

The chalets were beautiful and a minute from the beach and the restaurant bar was wonderful. The location is great, with the long stretch of beach curving round giving fabulous sunsets. The food at the restaurant is very good and there’s some shelters swimmings spots as well. This is a piece of paradise.

Mangrove Beach Chalets are the perfect location for a relaxing beach break in Tangalle. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The traditional Sri Lankan food was delicious and the restaurant is in a great location to enjoy beautiful beach views. We particularly enjoyed the lagoon where you can use the Chalet’s kayaks and explore the wildlife around the mangroves.
