The pension was adorable and the staff and the owner, Kris, super kind and friendly. I had dinner and breakfast (they were not included in the reservation) and both were very good and cheap. The onsen in the river was stunning, especially at night. The private onsen inside the pension was good too. Recommended.

The staff is very welcoming, kind, and available for any needs or information. The accommodation is comfortable and cozy. The location is perfect, next to the warm springs, in front of the forest, in the middle of the village. The food is excellent. We had a wonderful stay!

This was an excellent stay for me and my family. We missed our bus in Hongu to Kawayu and asked for help from the Kumano Tourist Information Centre. They called the hotel and the manager came right over to pick us up. Both the manager and his sister who was manning the counter were very kind and helpful. The location was wonderful - directly opposite the Onsen river, and next to the bus stand. Food (Dinner and Breakfast) was prepared and delivered freshly according to our time and it was very tasty. Rooms were a bit cold but comfortable. Overall, this was an excellent experience. Highly recommended for anyone considering Kawayu Onsen

Ashita no Mori location is very beautiful, facing the river and the mountain. Our hosts are extremely kind and helpful -following our request they agreed to stay up later than curfew in order to open the front door for us (finally we returned before curfew time). They also offered us to change rooms for the 2nd night in order to have a beautiful view of the river located in front of the hotel. If you want to experience the natural onsen in the river, don't forget to bring your swimsuits.

The homestay is strategically located. The hot spring is great. The dinner prepared by the boss is rich and delicious. The boss's service is very thoughtful and considerate.

The location is good, just take few minutes walk from the bus stop. The manager is super friendly, he gave us lot of advices about our hiking plan. I asked the manager to transfer my luggage to my next hotel in Kyoto, he is very nice to help us to contact with staff of next hotel. Although, the next hotel staff refused to received it due to the reason of (Cash on delivery). The manager is still try to help us to fill out the delivery sheet for the future we might needed.

The location is perfect. It's just 10 meters from Kawayu onsen. The dinner was really tasty and the staff is super friendly. Moreover, there are two free private onsens indoor. This is a small cozy guesthouse and a wonderful place to rest after a long hiking day.

The most beautiful location with our window looking right over the river! The staff were so friendly and accommodating (even helping us with luggage delivery last minute!). We had delicious food there and really enjoyed the gorgeous private onsen and having our own yukata. They also provide a shovel so you can experience digging your own hot spring in the river, which we loved. A magical, magical place that’s very easy to navigate to and from.
