Great location close to the Hida village (5 min walk) and 5 min by car from the station. The owner picked us up from the station and in the morning there is a free shuttle again to the station. We dined and had breakfast, both amazing in true Japanese style. Everyone was nice and kind to us. We used the onsen which was small but very clean and well equipped.

It was my first time staying at a Ryokan, and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. Everything we needed was provided, making our stay very comfortable. The owner was exceptionally kind and went out of his way to help us. When we couldn’t find a taxi in the early morning, he personally drove us to the station.

It is exactly I expect an old tradition house type of Ryokan. The place is comfortable and roomie. Perfect environment for us as rest stops. And of course the Onsen is what we came for.

The room was exquisitely designed, blending contemporary amenities with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The tatami floors complemented the elegant paper shoji screens, allowing soft, diffused light to fill the space. As for the dinner, it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Each dish was artfully arranged, showcasing vibrant colors and intricate presentations. The flavors were carefully balanced, with every bite revealing layers of taste that celebrated the finest ingredients. The experience was truly delightful, creating a perfect harmony between beauty and gastronomy.

The owner was very nice. We tried the Japanese diner and breakfast and we got to try new foods, very interesting! We really liked the spaceous room and the shuttlebus that picked us up at the station. We also enjoyed the window view and the (private) onsen

It was my first experience staying in Japanese Ryokan and I'm super happy that I've chosen Ryokan Murayama. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The Ryokan also has special private Onsens were you can stay with you only your group regardless the gender. The special dinner we order was also quite nice.
