Our experience ar Ryokan Asunaro was exquisite. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted kindly and helped with our bags. Everything was explained clearly and we even got to choose our own kimono’s to wear inside the Ryokan during our stay! The room was spacious, very clean and nice and warm. The tatami beds were very comfortable to our surprise (first experience with them) and we enjoyed the onsens as well (seperate for men and women). The Ryokan itself was so cosy, it felt like walking into a home. When checking out, we were also helped with shipping our bags to our final destination, which helped a lot. Highly recommend Ryokan Asunaro!

Beautifully furnished and staff attentive and welcoming. Japanese meals were beautifully presented and I highly recommend the experience of a Ryoken stay.

This family-owned property is so meticulously cared for and the family members are so welcoming and helpful. The set-up, decor and ornaments are so interesting. So very clean and warm. The dinner was amazing! The self-service laundry room is much appreciated.

The hotel is very good situated in Takayama, near the train station and also near the old city. The staff is extremely helpful and nice (even that they almost speak no English). The room was big and well equipped. The Onsen is very nice. Dinner was superb with all kind of Japanese plates. The staff explained every thing what it was and how we were supposed to eat it, everything was served in a beautiful way.

Everything! The people are beautiful, warm and friendly. The room was stunning. Amenities were everything you needed. Authentic Dinner and Breakfast included. Cozy bedding. Luggage storage. Yukata to wear if desired. Wish it could have been for longer!
