Staff were very kind and attentive. The decor and the rooms were very cute and traditional. The location was very convenient around restaurants and the old town.

I like the comfortable futons, staff attention and laundry facilities. The location wa. very close to train and bus station and walking distance from town centre.

This ryokan strikes a reasonable balance between authenticity and catering comfortably to its predominantly non-Japanese clientele. The tatami mat room was spacious, with thicker bedding mats than perhaps completely traditional (but I'm not complaining about that - very comfortable!) There was a separate seating area with a Western sofa, small shower room and separate toilet. All very clean. Kettle and tea provided, fridge with water bottles supplied daily. The public baths (indoors and (sort of) outdoors) were very pleasant and scarcely used by the shy tourists! Breakfast was very good and plentiful (Japanese or Western choice) Location is great - just a few minutes walk from the railway station and (in the opposite direction) the old town, but very peaceful side street. Staff very attentive and spoke good English.
