Private onsens and large public/private onsens... Their dinner was exceptional! Must try and a must visit.

This will be remembered as one of the most special places I've ever stayed in my life! The room was just divine, so spacious and stylish with traditional finishes and special touches, with a huge picture window looking out onto the snowy landscape. We had our own onsen outside our back door. The tiny little "morning market" a short walk away area was fun to explore. All meals included and also delightful and expansive! Initially I thought of it as a splurge pricewise but when you consider our breakfast and multi course dinner was included it was very reasonable for such a special place. Magical.

Dinner was comparable to Michelin restaurants. Private onsen was spectacular. The room itself was very nice as well as the view.

Beautiful location, great to unwind and relax for few days. Delicious food, after dinner we even get presented with late night snack and cold drink. Staff fully professional and extremely nice. Room is great if you want to feel like in traditional ryokan, especaily private onsen and kotatsu were awasome. We recommend to stay at least for 2 days in order to really feel the place. It was hands down best place we visited during our 3 week in Japan.

Stunning ryokan, relaxing and quiet - we loved the semi private outdoor onsens so much and don't need to book or pay extra to use! Our room also had a cute little private rock onsen with momiji view. Breakfast was great and comfortable futons to sleep on.

The food was excellent and an authentic experience. The staff very welcoming and very helpful. Matras was a bit hard though, but I think that is the Japanese preference. Loved the onsen in the room and the two onsen for general use which you could use privately with view of the mountain.

It was the best accommodation ever. We arrived by car in the rain and the staff came outside to welcome us with umbrella. Their service is amazing and the accommodation is beautiful. We loved the onsen in our room with a little Japanese garden. Also, the public onsen (it’s also private) was fantastic and we enjoyed the beautiful view from there. Both dinner and breakfast are fantastic. I don’t think I can find a better accommodation than this. 100% recommend it.

The hospitality was truly outstanding and the place itself beyond beautiful. Our room unfortunately had a bit of an old / not very pleasant smell (nothing the staff or owners can do anything about I suspect) but the amenities and vibe were amazing. The private onsen was clean and lovely. The food (breakfast and dinner) was another highlight, and they accommodated our vegetarian request for the most part. We suspect they did use fish stock in some dishes but if you aren't strict, you'll be fine.
