OYAJI is a real gem. I’m so happy to have been able to stay there. The room is rather small but feels very homely and comfortable. There’s a kitchen and eating area that you’re allowed to used. Everything is furnished very tastefully and brightly. It also had mosquito nets in front of the windows, which was a nice touch. The AC was very easy to manage. The location is truly amazing, in my opinion one of the best you could get in Tainan. It’s in a pretty alley next to a Main Street, it felt super safe coming home even at night as a single young woman. There’s many nice cafes, restaurants and street food options in the area. The host is so wholesome and kind. She prepared snacks for me, put fruit and cake in the fridge and updated me about cultural events that were happening. If you’re a traveller that wants some local tips, booking OYAJI is like booking an amazing stay and an amazing travel guide at once. Unfortunately I was there for my studies, so I didn’t have too much time to attend everything she recommended me, but I don’t doubt it would be worth to invest the time if you’re able to.
