I was looking forward to this stay in Tainan and it didn’t disappoint. This hotel is filled with so much character and we didn’t want to leave. This place is thoroughly cleaned and has a very cosy feeling. The owners are also really really sweet and helpful. The windows are original single glaze and outside is quite noisy, so I’d recommend bringing ear plugs for a good nights sleep.

We very much enjoyed staying at Neat Hostel. The property has a lot of history and is beautifully maintained. It really feels like you are stepping back in time. Our room was clean, spacious and fairly comfortable. The owner is very kind and gave us a tour of the property upon check-in. The location is unbeatable - close to the station but also right in the city center, with all major attractions in walking distance. There are some great coffee shops, breakfast spots and restaurants nearby.

The owner is a gentleman. He was really helpful, engaging and kind. The best kind of uncle. Please go to Pu Jei Bakery down the street as our host advised. After 2pm and get the specialty bread. It’s like a big afternoon croissant with salty butter on the outside and delicate soft bread inside. Also there is a cold green milk drink with the massive tapioca. It is delicious. We stayed in room 207 and it is my most favourite room in two months of travelling around . The AC is cold the bed is big and the feeling is very colonial Japanese.
