My stay at the Academy Hotel was very pleasant. Especially the staff stood out to me, as they were very accommodating and made many things possible. I was able to pay over online banking instead of on site, which seems to be customary in Tainan. They also made it possible for me to change rooms for later booked visit, so I was able to stay in the same room when I had booked two slots back to back. I had booked a room for one person, but adding a second person in person was very easy and cost less than 1000NTD per night. The rooms are huge, so are the bathrooms; The TVs vary in quality for some reason. The breakfast buffet was nice and had a large amount of options; the flavor profiles were mostly Taiwanese, which I enjoyed, but might be something to look out for. The location is really amazing, right next to Yule Street which has some great street food offerings. There‘s a 7/11 less than a minute away that stayed open even during a Taifun, which was very convenient. I think the hotel is one of the best options if you need to be close to NCKU campus during your stay.
