The location was excellent it was so close to the light rail and central station meaning everywhere was easily accessible. All of the staff were so friendly and approachable The free teas and coffees in reception were an excellent addition along with the grab and go breakfasts. The bed was really comfortable and the room was really clean and had everything I needed for my stay.

I spent about 10 nights in this hotel in total in 3 different rooms (due to a couple of extensions throughout). The standout feature of this hotel is definitely its location — just a short walk from Central Station and within 10–30 minutes of most major tourist attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the city. The neighbourhood itself (Surry Hills) is also beautiful and full of charming cafes and is at a very short walking distance to the gay district. However, the rooms are quite overpriced for what you get. Cleanliness left much to be desired, with visible dust on most surfaces and lazy room cleaning service. My room’s safe wasn’t working initially (and was too small to store items like an iPad), though this was eventually resolved. The bathroom design could use improvement — the showers tend to flood the floors, as many other guests have mentioned. Privacy was also poor- the soundproofing was quite terrible and I could hear my next door neighbours partying all night and could not shake the thought of other guests hearing into my room as well. If you’re sensitive to light while sleeping, this might not be the best option for you. The curtains are difficult to close fully, and it’s nearly impossible to block out the daylight completely. Service-wise, the experience was mixed. Some staff members were incredibly kind and helpful — special thanks to Abby for being so great! Others came across as impatient and less approachable. Overall, service was decent, but inconsistent. Another positive point is the complementary coffee station in the lobby which was available 24/7 and had some sweet snacks in the morning.

This hotel is a hidden gem, I loved everything from the minute I walked in the door. What an amazing welcome I received and the upgraded room was a lovely surprise. The coffee makers, fresh fruit, cold water, tea in the communal area was welcomed. Cafes, restaurants and bars are an easy walk away. I will definitely stay here again.
