Our stay at The Wheatsheaf was lovely. We stayed here on the third night of our Northumberland 250 road trip, and although it is technically in The Borders, it was a perfect place to stay and not too far to pick the route back up again. The little village is lovely and super quiet. The hotel staff were really friendly and explained how things worked during the night if we had to let our dog out and the hotel was closed. We had an evening meal at the hotel and our dog was made to feel very welcome and given water without us having to ask. We had breakfast before we left and we have to say, the food was truly wonderful. Would recommend this hotel in an instant.

After a long drive, we were met with kind, engaged staff who really could not have done more for us. The pub is warm with an open fire that soon had us relaxed. Would certainly return.
