The hotel is a sort of antique, but it is just fit my likings. The meals in the restaurant is excellent. Especially the fish and chip which my daughter ordered. Very fresh. I only met one hotel staff during my staff. He is very kind and helpful. Private parking location is in the the back of the hotel but up on the hill in the back. Which needs some patience to find it out even with a simple map put on the front desk. Afterall, with that price tag, I am very satisfied. Adam

After the very negative reviews on line we were pleasantly surprised to find a clean, warm and tidy hotel. It has a tiny staff, who are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are roomy and the mattresses are good, the breakfasts are great - with 1 member of staff doing everything well, as fast as she can. It is a GREAT shame that the bars are closed - Stromness is small and this is a great loss. The ground floor bar and upstairs ballroom sitting empty would be wonderful venues for the Folk Festival if only the owner would review their attitude to an alcohol licence.
