We booked a triple room which was OK for 3 people, nice beds, clean, nice towels. It has a boiler and coffee (Nescafe)-tea bags and basic amenities (1 little bottle shampoo-body wash for each) at the bathroom. The location was OK, because the tram stop was just out side the hotel, and the center was only 2 stops away. We didn't not have breakfast. We wanted a value for money hotel for 2 nights at Christmas time in Strasbourg, with easy access to the center and to the main station and that was exactly the Hotel Esplanade.

The location is major win for me. It is located right in front of the tram stop. Easy to go from Central Station or the Old Town or European Parliament to the hotel. The hotel is pristine clean. Don't be tricked by the old appearance outside. We can see the owners do their effort to rejuvenate the room inside.
