Offering simply furnished rooms and panoramic views of the Bernese Alps, the family-run Hotel Stechelberg is 6 km from Lauterbrunnen and 1 km from the Schilthorn cable car. Free WiFi is available.
The hotel enjoys a quiet countryside setting outside the town, in the Lauterbrunnen valley. The simply furnished rooms at Hotel und Restaurant Stechelberg overlook the garden or the mountains. They have carpeted or wooden floors and private or shared bathrooms.
A buffet breakfast is served daily. Afterwards, guests can relax on the large terrace overlooking the garden or explore the Lauterbrunnen valley, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. Activities include hiking, cycling, table tennis, football and badminton. There is also a children’s playground

The Stechelberg cable car goes to Mürren and then to Schilthorn in 30 minutes. The Rütti Bus Stop is right in front of the hotel. The scenic Trümmelbach Waterfalls are 3 km away, and it is 7.5 km to Wengen.
From Lauterbrunnen you can connect directly to Jungfraujoch Train Station. Interlaken is 20 km from Hotel Stechelberg, while Bern is 72 km away. Free private parking is available at the hotel. Zurich Airport is 150 km away.

Hotel located in a very quiet position at the very end of the valley's road and surrounded by meadows and trees. From my room's window I could see one of those great waterfalls Lauterbrunnen valley is famous for. Room size and cleanliness were ok and common WC and shower also. Wi-FI connection was good. The hotel has a restaurant with a pleasant garden to dine outside and that's the only option to eat if you don't want to go to Lauterbrunnen (7 km away). The Postal Bus stop is just 50 metres from the hotel.

Breakfast was typical Swiss breakfast if you ate the "free" breakfast. but if you ordered from the kitchen, fantastic! Dinner and lunch both at the restaurant was very good and a pretty decent value. Being able to watch not only one but 3 waterfalls while eating dinner is an experience everyone should enjoy at least once! Our room had a balcony, and it was used every day we were there! The views were amazing in every direction.

Quiet place with great views from a lovely balcony. Well-appointed kitchen. Comfy beds. Big bathtub. Easy bus access and close to the cable car to Murren & Grimmelwald. The staff were helpful and kind. (Other reviews about grumpy staff is just tourists misunderstanding Swiss culture. The staff were very straightforward; it would be brusque in the USA, but it's totally normal in Switzerland.) It was great to get take-away food & beer from the restaurant and enjoy it in the apartment. The hummus was especially tasty.
