This is a beautiful historic hotel with rooms overlooking splendid gardens. We received a complimentary room upgrade which was excellent. I loved the water dispensers and the biscuits. The breakfast was magnificent with something for every taste. We have had an evening meal in the past which was also superb and served in a Victorian conservertory. We have stayed here before and will do again. Excellent in every respect.

Beds were really comfy, loved the soap and spa products in the bathroom, the old fashioned water spigot was really cool to use aswell, loved the wooded Lakeland the court was based on, the carpark was really nice and big and we enjoyed the breakfast too. Wish we knew about the spa before we arrived so we will have to give that a try next time we come!

Staff were great - not many of them but very pleasant and helpful. Great old mansion in lovely grounds, clearly being improved gradually. Clean crisp room and good facilities.

Beautiful property and setting with stunning, Victorian style features as you enter the main building. The rest of the more modern parts of the property a little less appealing.

Room was spacious and clean, bed was one of biggest and the most comfortable beds we've slept in. Staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible, and the buffet breakfast was very very good, a good selection of hot and cold food, even the toast machine worked properly and toasted both sides!!
