The hotel was fine in itself and I had a room with a great view…. But I also had a room that was boiling hot. The radiator was on the whole time. I tried to turn it off but it wasn’t possible as the dial only went down as far as 2 and believe me I know how to turn a radiator down and I gave it my all but it wouldn’t budge any further. Consequently I had to have the windows open all night and it was quite noisy. Perhaps if they turned the heating off they would have the money to do the place up a little, have someone on reception 24 hours and have a few more facilities available.

Stayed here for a family wedding good value for money . Staff friendly room fine nice and clean maybe a fresh coat of paint on all the walls we’re needed but apart from that nice and clean with really comfortable beds .We didn’t have breakfast so unable to rate that overall it was fine .

Thanks to Nique I was given a better bedroom this time, lovely view. The reception is ok, the lounge and the dining area is always very nice, the artificial floral decorations enhance the area, a fire down the one end cheers the place up when necessary, and nice seating area with views, to have a drink, and relax, also there is a Tv. Breakfast for me was adequate and the evening meals were acceptable, except sometimes the potatoes could have been hotter, and the plates also at times needed to be hotter, never noticed this on previous visits. There was a choice of menu, . The place did seem a little different this time though . The staff under the Helm of Fred, were very pleasant, and always happy to please guests. I was treated very well, even had my table reserved, which was nice as I had a sea view. I did e joy my stay, I like St Ives and feel comfortable there, just needs a few adjustments.

Great all round , staff really nice and friendly , yes it’s a bit dated but bargain for st ives , and when your there your not spending the whole time inside , so who cares about a bit of paint work , room was Comfortable and clean
