A lovely, old, stone-built inn. The pub was friendly, busy but not overwhelming. The rooms were of a really good standard, well decorated, comfortable, with high quality 'extras' (toiletries, teas/coffees/drinks). Had a really good night's sleep, uninterrupted from the pub below. Also a really good, full English breakfast, served by a very lovely and welcoming member of staff. I also really liked the Virginia Woolf link, which I was unaware of when I booked!

Staff are very helpful and go the extra mile, evening meal was great for both of us and the breakfast excellent as well. Nice vibe in the bar, popular with locals.

The staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was ordered the previous night together with what time you wanted breakfast. It was served on time and very good quality. The room was adequate with everything we needed. Their daytime & evening menu had a good variety, reasonably priced and good quality.
