Hotel Overview

Rufflets Hotel offers award-winning gardens, free Wi-Fi and a contemporary restaurant. The hotel is just outside St Andrews centre, a 5-minute drive from St Andrews Old Course. There is also free on-site parking.
The bright rooms are individually decorated, and each has a modern bathroom with Comfort Zone toiletries. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV, iPod dock, and tea/coffee facilities with Scottish shortbread.
Rufflets Restaurant is located within the main house overlooking the garden and offers lunch and dinner menus using local produce. Afternoon teas and light lunches are also available, featuring fresh produce from the kitchen garden.
Just a 5-minute drive from North Beach and East Sand Beach, the 4-star Rufflets Hotel is 2 miles from St Andrews Castle.
Dogs are welcome in our exterior rooms located in the Gatehouse and Rufflets Lodge.
Our Woodland Suites are luxury Shepherd Huts that are located within the grounds of the hotel.

In the East Wing, these rooms are individually styled and include a standard queen bed. The fully-tiled bathrooms are compact with bathtub/shower combinations. Views are restricted, overlooking the Garden Suite and the fields beyond.

Turret Room - enter dates to see room photos

Traditionally furnished and beautifully decorated in cream shades or bold colours. These spacious Junior Suites boast a separate seating area in the house's turret. Include a modern bathroom with a power shower, while some feature their own balcony or a four-poster bed.

Family Room (2 Adults + 2 Children) - enter dates to see room photos

Located in the external lodge or on the first floor of the main house. The lodge Family Room features a master king bedroom and a panoramic view of the garden, a smaller twin bedroom, and a shared bathroom with bath and shower. The other Family Room is spacious, modern and located on the first floor with views over the fields. It offers a master king bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a large marble-tiled bathroom with a bath and power shower. Dogs are welcome in the lodge Family Room by prior arrangement.

Luxurious Suite located either at the front of the main house with 2 south-facing windows and antique furnishings, or separate from the hotel with its own parking space and modern decor. Includes an en suite bathroom with a power shower and either a spa bath or a marble-topped bath, as well as a seating area and garden views.

Gatehouse Classic Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

The Gatehouse Classic is located in the Gatehouse, a short walk from the main entrance to the hotel, with its own designated parking. This ground-floor room features a contemporary design and a king-size zip-and-link bed with a feature upholstered headboard. It can also be used as twin beds. The tiled bathroom has a low profile walk-in shower with a drench shower, and a feature freestanding bath and basin.

The Gatehouse Superior is located in the Gatehouse, a short walk from the main hotel, with its own designated parking to the rear. The bedroom has a king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be separated into twin beds. Guests will find a sitting area decorated in a contemporary design in the room. The double sofa bed can accommodate up to two children or one adult, on request. The tiled bathroom has a wet-room style walk-in shower with a drench shower and a handheld shower, a feature double-ended bath, a basin, and a smaller hand wash basin adjacent to the toilet.

Our couples Woodland Suites are bespoke luxury Shepherd Huts that have been have individually designed and decorated. They feature a double bedroom with a copper roll-top bath along with a separate en suite and shower. The living room area comprises a cosy seating space area with a wood burning stove, dining table with inlaid games board and a kitchenette.

The Family Woodland Suites are bespoke luxury Shepherd Huts that have been have individually designed and decorated. They feature a double bedroom, a separate en suite and shower and a dining table that converts to the children's double bed. The living room area comprises a cosy seating space area with a wood burning stove and a kitchenette.

After a break of probably 40 years, we were happy to find the same wonderful service and ambience. The weather was lovely which helped with drinks on the terrace. Food excellent.
