The hotel was full of character and history. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. I thoroughly recommend staying here.

Loved the style,staff were friendly and food was great. Also the manager let us book in early so we didn’t have to wait around as we were early for check in (the room was free the night before so was ready) and on our way home from cruise a staff member took our suitcases into storage for us so we didn’t have to carry them around even though we weren’t staying the night again we just went back for breakfast before we had to head to the airport. We will definitely be back again.

I booked for my 95 year old grandfather to stay in the White Star over Christmas so he could be closer to us, and honestly, everything was absolutely fantastic. The room was spacious, very clean and generously packed with drink freebies, there was even a lovely Christmas card and present. The staff were excellent and the breakfast fantastic. Everyone was so accommodating. I had always expected staying at the tavern to be good (we walk past it almost everyday walking our dog), but it truly exceeded expectations in every way. My grandfather had a great stay and I would 100% recommend. Finally, should anyone from the White Star be reading this, I just want to say a personal thank you.

Lovely snug room, very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was also very well appointed. Bed was really comfy and the pillows were excellent.

The hotel was well situated for us to walk to the cruise terminal. It was also a short walk into town and to see the historical areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was beautiful, well decorated, spotless clean, pristine linen, water, tea, coffee even beer left as complimentary. We were told there would be no breakfast due to a kitchen refurbishment, but Bridget came up to the room to let us know that was only for hot food. When we went to the dinning room the staff had laid out an exceptional buffet. Nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay again if in area. Well done all.

I didn't have a breakfast, as there were problems with your kitchen. I Enjoy a cooked English breakfast. So I used another establishment. But on the whole.It was a good stay.
