We chose this bed and breakfast because of all the fabulous reviews on Booking.com and WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! Jean, our host, was friendly, attentive, and interested in making our experience a pleasant one. Coming from the United States, it seems we were a novelty, but we were driving from Metz back to Paris and wanted a small village. Jean shared historical information about the area and about his home. We enjoyed the kebab restaurant down the road, even though they were wondering what Americans were doing there! We love the backroads of Europe! And we love meeting the people! The experience was exactly as we had hoped! The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was generous. When we come back to Metz, we will definitely come back to Solgne!

A lovely bed and breakfast with an even more lovely host. We were greeted with a cold drink and snacks just as we arrived and enjoyed a bit of pleasant conversation with our host. A house from around the time of the French Revolution, it was very tastefully decorated and super cozy. Our room was quite large with two comfy beds, a roomy bathroom and warm colors. A typical French-style breakfast with delicious baked goods and different jams ... some of which were homemade. Our purpose for staying there was to have a relaxing overnight stay after 8 weeks working in France and on our way to Germany. We didn't want the typical hotel just off the highway and were willing to drive a bit further for the comfort and quiet of a village. It did not disappoint!

Fabulous rooms and the host Jean was so accomodating friendly and nothing was too much trouble Plentiful continental breakfast Definately recommend We travelled by motorbike and there is safe secure garage Great pizza kebab restaurant in the town too
