The room was lovely and the garden was so beautiful. The breakfast was good, they brought warm and nice croissants and toast to the table. There was also a lit fireplace in the breakfast room. Quite close to the old city and train station. In all a very good experience!

It is a classic old fashioned hotel and I LOVED it When having breakfast in the morning, there was a fire going. It was a warming experience and a great start to the day. My bedroom was perfect and of all the places I stayed during my trip, it was the warmest, most comfortable bedroom. The location was easy to find and when I parked, it was a short walk to the train station and the Hop On Hop Off buses.

There are wonderful walks on the doorstep to reach Pena Palace and the Moorish fort(which I could see from my enormous room) a lovely park too. The hotel gardens are gorgeous.

What a lovely hotel! Old fashioned charm with caring staff. The breakfast was amazing- the lady remembered what drink you liked and brought it to the table as you walked into the dining room. Great selection of bread, meats cheeses and fruit (options changed everyday) with hot food available to order (we were always too full for this). There was also fresh orange juice from their own farm! The gardens were stunning and well maintained with a view of the Moorish castle. To top off a wonderful stay, they gave us traditional Portuguese treats on Valentine's day. Would love to return one day!

Breakfast can be better by providing cooked dishes like scramble eggs, omelets, ... which is not the case

We liked everything. The property is stunning, beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy. The breakfast was lovely and a fire was roaring. Truly delightful. The walk into town was fine too.
