Friendly homestay, comfortable room for the price. Very nearby to all the local spots - 10 min walk to main strip. Lal organised some tours for us which was helpful. Big breakfast to set you up for the day.

You can go to Sigirya rock by foot. It is really confortable. They can organise tours for you. They are really helpful.

We had a wonderful stay with Lal and his wife Nalini. They cooked us delicious local dinners which we won't forget! They also helped us planing and organizing a trip to Minneriya Nationalpark which we really can recommend.

For visiting Sigiriya, my boyfriend and I stayed for three nights at Lal’s Homestay. Sleeping there was truly a great experience. Not only was the accommodation good, peaceful and well located just outside of the city, Lal and his wife happen to be great hosts. Every morning we had a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast, he organised a safari with an excellent driver and on the last night, his wife cooked one of the most amazing Sri Lankan dinners we’ve had so far. If you have the chance to try it, I would most certainly recommend it more than any of the other places that we’ve tried in the city center. I would fly back to Sri Lanka again just to have her banana flower in mango chutney.

Really lovely and helpful host! I work remotely and had also visited Sigiriya earlier in my trip, but Lal was great at finding activities I hadn't done before and would fit around my work schedule. We went on a bike safari and saw lots of elephants and a gorgeous sunset, he took me to an ayurvedic massage centre, and he even dropped me off for an evening at a hostel my friends were staying at. Great for digital nomads - you can work from the table or there's a cafe with good wifi around the corner ('cappacino bistro'). Helped arrange my journey to the airport too :)

It’s a beautiful house with a big garden and nice rooms. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The owner Lal and his family was very friendly and helped with everything I needed. The included breakfast was a very big and delicious mix of Sri Lankan and Western food. I had dinner here as well and it was honestly the best food I‘ve had in Sri Lanka. All the guests can eat together at a sort of all-you-can-eat buffet. Highly recommend this place!

Nice location in very quiet area but very close to the center (Sigiriya is not big so it was easy) Rooms very clean, cozy and comfortable :) I felt really safe in the place and the food was really tasty!
