Friendly helpful staff,great food, good service, excellent value for mouny staying in a real traditional pub .Nice friendly locals and a real log fire ,breakfast was also excellent. I will definitely be returning. Thanks to Steve and Karen

Breakfast was very good with good quality products and plenty of choice. A lovely feel to the bar with owners and all staff very friendly and welcoming. We had also booked an evening meal which we enjoyed and felt to be good value for money. We already plan to make a return visit and stay again early next year.

The landlady & landlord are very welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is first class and eating there in the evening is convenient and food very good.

There was a mix up in that I thought I'd ordered a full breakfast, but the message didn't get through. Nontheless, the staff gave me a free continental style breakfast which was entirely satisfactory. This Inn is right next to the last remaining mediaeval town gate, so lots of historical interest. Great place to stay ! Had a lovely dinner of sausage and mash in the bar, witn great service.
