I had a great stay at Shanghai Joyful Star Hotel near Pudong Airport. The hotel offers a free 24-hour shuttle service to and from the airport, which was incredibly convenient for my arrival. The room was clean and comfortable, providing a peaceful environment to rest after a long flight. The staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring a smooth check-in process. Although my stay was brief, the hotel’s proximity to the airport and its reliable shuttle service made it an excellent choice for a layover. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

There was free airport transfers and hotel was very clean. Has a washer and dryer in the building which is very convenient. Loads of shops around for food

I love everything at this hotel. The staff I found on the 1st day check in is no. 35 and she is very nice to welcome the guest and try to support the early check-in. Breakfast provides various kind of food, from local Chinese style to some ordinary western one. Room is nice with quality bed, pillow, especially the towel is better than some 5 star hotel. New, clean and good feeling when you use it. I also love the free laundry service which provide both washer and dryer.

It was great to have a hotel that would offer a shuttle to the airport. I just went there for a very short period, so it was basically just to shower and sleep. The shower was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice, specially that it was vegetarian :)

The staff are really friendly and helpful. This is our second stay at the Shanghai Joyful Star Hotel. We fly through Shanghai and have long layovers between flights. The free shuttle bus is a bonus for us because we don't want to have to organise getting to and from the airport. The rooms have been refurbished since our last stay, and they are so clean, spacious, and comfortable. There are plenty of shops and restaurants just around the corner, and the area is quiet. We will definitely stay here again and again.

Free shuttle from and too airport. Free shuttle from and to Disneyland (even though there's only 1 early there and 1 late back) Polite staff that understand a bit of english They also helped with Wechat and Alipay. The room was big and spacious Bed was comfy as a cloud The waterfall shower was heavenly The toilet was out of this world (heated seats, lit up in the dark without need of bathroom light and foot activated flush) Big tele Lovely cold aircon (also heat if needed) Fridge. Safe. Two free bottles of water a day breakfast was plentiful and delicious (meiwei) All in all, I can't fault the place. would definitely go back. Thank you, joyfull star and staff

Travelled from Cairo to Melbourne with a stop at Shanghai. Had 16 hours layover and therefore booked the hotel rather than staying in airport or purchasing lounge zone. What I liked: • Free shuttle bus from and to the airport that goes every hour, which is great • Located only 20 - 25 minutes from airport (considering how huge Shanghai is, this is close) • Inclusion of breakfast with variety of food - very nice not to think about where to have your breakfast in an unknown city • A quiet room with all facilities, such as air conditioner, towels, shampoo, kettle for a morning tea/coffee, TV, WiFi • Big bed that you can definitely enjoy after a long flight • Nice and friendly staff • Very early check-in (arrived to the hotel at 7 AM and staff said that my room will be available from 8 AM, which was perfect for me). Overall, perfect cheap hotel for a long layover and after a long flight

The location is great close to lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is very clean and the staff were so helpful. The shuttle bus was so accurate in time and location. Its instructions were clear and precise.
