This is an iconic building from the communist past. Fabulous history and a unique experience. The couple who run the place are very kind and helpful. It was a chilly night and they gave us a heater for our room. Stunning views of Lake Sevan from the huge panoramic windows of the dining room.

As many other travelers already mentioned, and probably you reading this are here for the same reason, so am I. The historical significance of this venue is just cool, and just for that I'd recommend coming here. Breakfast was nice tho. Location too. View is awesome as well.

Beautiful location right above the shores of lake Sevan and below the Sevanavank monastery, a short walking distance from the busy beach, so it's nice and quiet. The staff are super friendly, and having your coffee in the morning on the terrasse above the lake is a dream :) The building itself is a Soviet constructivist building from the 1930s, and they have an excellent ping pong table!

Location is truly exceptional. The hotel is a fabulous place and a historical monument of Soviet era architecture. One can enjoy meals with a wide view of Sevan lake and its surroundings. All rooms are with breathtaking views. Hosts are very hospitable and doing a lot to help guests feel themselves comfortable.

The Writers House is an extraordinary place and extraordinary architecture. Its not a luxurious hotel, but a basic accomodation with great bonuses: the building in style of Soviet modernism, breathtaking views from both the rooms and the dining room, own path to the monastery and last but not least the lovely and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my stay, my room was renovated and clean and food was tasty. Thank You!
