The Bed and Breakfast is a gem in Sestri Levante - all is there, of course, if you do not expect extras which only 4- or 5-star chain hotels can boast of. This accommodation is for those who love homelike atmosphere and care. The owner, Francesco, is a great host and a person. He gives good tips on where to eat and relax, what to see and do, and how to get to the local sights which Liguria abounds with. His sister, who is also in the business, is also a great personality. I really felt at home at their place. These positive emotions fortify when you get around the property and find that the Portobello is in between two sand beaches - one in the East where the sun rises and one in the West, where the sun sets. In front there is a square with a small cathedral in it. From the windows we got stunning views of the beaches, the cathedral, and the castle which mounts behind it. The B&B is in a 10-minute stroll from the railway station, which is a pleasant walk along the small town's streets. Around the property there are plenty of shops, pasticerias, small cafes and restaurants. In the morning the hosts offer an excellent breakfast, and through the day you can get tea and coffee and some snacks. I shall get back one day, no doubts. Great location for beaches, restaurants, shopping. Easy walk to the station. Friendly hosts, very helpful in recommending restaurants, suggesting walks and places to visit. Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. Property of character. Our room had a nice street view on 2 sides. It was quite a small double, but we were free to make use of the kitchen and sitting room.

Perfect B&B, right in the heart of the village. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Hosts Francesco and Marzia are so welcoming, friendly and informative. Gorgeous room with a view over the bay. Cannot say enough about how great this place is.

Francesco and Marzia are wonderful hosts.We were amazed that they picked us up from the train station and dropped us off when departing.Francesco also carried our luggage upstairs.They gave us helpful advice and a delicious breakfast every morning.You have access to the dinning area to make tea or coffee at all times.We had an amazing seaviews from ouf window and loved our room,a memory we can treasure.The location is perfect..in the old town near everything,for exploring.The public beach is 50 steps away,and the umbrella beach is 100 steps. Its about a 10 minute walk to the train station to visit other villages nearby. Highly recommend B&B Portabello.Security is also great. Thankyou Francesco and Mariza for a great stay.

The location in the historic centre was very good. Close to two lovely beaches and near all the best restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous, varied and very good.

Wonderful host !!The owner Francesco greeted us on time and helped us to the homely apartment. Francesco then drove with me to find parking and brought me back on his scooter touring the town to give me my bearings . He then recommend excellent restaurants and sites. The next morning he served us a huge breakfast, better than at that cafe’s. My girlfriend had a toothache and he called the dentist and really looked after us. The place is highly recommended . The location is perfect next to the restaurants with a sea view from the windows
