We’ve stayed here many times & in my opinion for what you pay, you couldn’t really ask for more. There was an issue with the heating & we were moved straight away to a great room with a sea view & fridge in the room. Only paid £39 for the night so very little to complain about!

Stay regularly - always love it! Beautiful building and great location. Yes it's a old building but that is its charm! Basic room "basic" but excellent value.

The Grand is such a wonderful old hotel with so much history- since I was a child I've wanted to stay there. The prices are so reasonable in January so I booked a couple of nights with a trip to Whitby fitted in too. Sadly I was ill the whole time of my stay, nothing at all to do with the hotel, I was ill when I arrived and thought I'd feel better but ended up feeling worse over the next day or so. Luckily, the room was comfortable and warm and had a bath, which was much appreciated. The staff member on my arrival was friendly and helpful, so although I spent my whole stay in my room, I was comfortable and warm with a lovely view of the sea as an added bonus. I will definitely book The Grand again as I want to get a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and everything this special hotel has to offer.

What we liked was staff was helpful, we payed a ten pounds earlier booking in fee, so we could book at 1 o'clock instead of 3 o'clock, the booking in times have now changed.
