Very comfortable and clean room in a cool old house. The owner, Nico, was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for Savannakhet. We wished we could’ve stayed longer.

Host Nico was friendly and helpful. Location was good, not far from the river and lots of eating places. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy. Liked the bathroom. Used Rental Bike Shop for bicycles. Ate at Lin's Cafe several times. Loved the coconut coffee

Brilliant place, once you find it, savannakhet is small so easy to get around, room really big, bed, super comfy, nice colonial style, AC was great, public area downstairs was nice to chillout and relax

I’d read reviews about the property and in particular how the bathroom and toilet is styled with bamboo faucets, concrete walls and a ‘river stone’ corrugated floor. These features ‘sold me’ on the property as I’m so over showers that spray over toilet seats or floors that have five different tiles on them! But Vanpila also has nice old varnished floorboards and oversized comfortable beds plus plenty of bedroom space for a desk. No TV which isn’t required in any case. I also liked the half way proximity of Vanpila between the bus station and the old quarter of Savannakhet.

The room was clean. I was able to do video calls. The bamboo water spout in the bathroom is kind of cool. Nico was also quite accommodating. He gave me some good information about the place.

What a lovely stay :) cute guesthouse and friendly host. Good location, there are a lot of minimart and local shop nearby.
