Very convenient base for our camper van trip around Faroe Islands. Common area (kitchen, lounge, dining room) were great and very well equipped.

I really enjoyed the combination of the campsite and the hostel. Staying in the tent with fresh air, the sound of raindrops on the tent and the waves crashing in the distance. Chilly mornings, quick sprint to the hostel where it's warm and dry. It is a place where you just embrace the chaos and make friends. Many people, cultures and cooking styles share the common kitchen/livingroom. Dishes in the sink, waiting for someone to wash them. Mountains of damp shoes in the hallway and bathrooms that have a hard time keeping up with all the guests. And in the middle of it all, Felix. Just taking another 20 hour nap. It's all part of the experience. The place has a great vibe, the staff is so welcoming and hospitable.The view is amazing. Highly recommend for travelers with an open mind and a sense of adventure.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Giljanes Camping, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the heart of the Faroe Islands with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. It is an ideal spot for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. The facilities at Giljanes Camping are impeccable. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the communal areas to the bathrooms and showers. The campsite is well-maintained, offering all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen area is spacious and fully equipped, which made meal preparations easy and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional hospitality provided by the owner, Kristjan. He went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and at home. His knowledge of the local area and willingness to share tips and recommendations for activities and attractions were invaluable. Kristjan’s warmth and friendliness truly made our stay memorable. Overall, Giljanes Camping is a gem in the Faroe Islands. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a family, or a group of friends, this campsite offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, comfort, and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Faroe Islands. One more thing to add is that I wasn’t able to say my final thank-you to the owner, so I’ll have to plan another trip to the Faroe Islands soon!

The tent sits are flat with good grass. The communal area is quite large with enough space to sit quietly. The staff were very friendly.

I loved the owner’s attitude - helpful and cheerful and always willing to answer questions or figure out the best solution for the guests. This kind of approach is rarely seen, so it is amazing here!

The best thing was the staff . Sorry I can’t remember his name, but the guy that greeted and checked us in was really helpful. The common area facilities are really good - warm and well equipped .
