Andreas “A real gem. Location, apartment, host: everything just perfect!”

Host: Shane is an exceptionally responsive and proactive host. I had booked months ahead of my trip, and have been bombarding him with countless questions since. He has been patient and knowledgeable and addressed each and every question, providing loads of details and recommendations on hidden gems in the area. Shane is genuinely interested in the utmost comfort of his guests and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and plans. He even sent a tractor on one occasion within 15min, where my car had slid of the gravel path to pull me out of the ditch. I have met Shane as an easygoing, uncomplicated and friendly guy who is always up for a chat. Apartment: I had high expectations as the pictures on Booking.com are already promising. My expectations were far exceeded once I arrived at the accommodation. The apartment is way bigger than it appears on the photos, it could easily fit a family with 1 or 2 small children. There are 2 big double beds. The bathroom is very generously sized, the kitchen is fully equipped. The entire apartment was cleaned to perfection every 2 days, housekeeping did a great job and even did my laundry every 2 days. The views, definitely the centerpiece of the apartment, are incredible. The sea-facing front of the apartment is all windows, with views of lush jungle, the sea and beautiful sunsets. To top it off, there is generous terrace along the whole front of the apartment, including a hammock several meters above the ground. Wildlife is abundant around the apartment, you will see butterflies, birds and even monkeys without even leaving the house. Location: Nestled into a hillside, around 10-15min walk to the (almost empty) beach. Another couple of minutes and you'll find yourself on one of the jungle hiking trails along the coast, featuring countless beaches and coves to pick for a dip. The place never felt overcrowded. A restaurant provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, a bar serves cold beers and nice cocktails for a refresher.
