Average hotel in San Luis Obispo. Clean but old fashioned room, comfortable beds, friendly staff. We spent one night on the way back to Los Angeles. It was late and we needed to rest.

Positioned at the top of Monterey Street adjacent to US101 this hotel was quiet and comfortable with no traffic noise at all, even though our room was on the back facing US101. The room itself included a small balcony, was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the shower room more than adequate in size and facilities provided. Parking was also available and easy. There are a limited number of restaurants nearby, but, with only a 15 - 20 minute walk into the historic downtown area there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was continental in the main with pancakes and toast providing the only hot options.

The hotel is conveniently located and our room /bathroom were spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bed was really comfortable! New table lamps with plug sockets have been installed by bed side to make up for lack of sockets to meet modern traveller requirements (it is an old hotel) The shower pressure and temperature was good.
