“Excellent choice for staying in San Jose!”

The staff were so so cheerful and welcoming, I felt straight like being at home. The shared shower & toilet was spacious, and felt comfortable using. The kitchen, living room and several shared public spaces were really comfortable.

Hostel Casa Ridgway was a perfect place for me to stay for a couple of nights to explore the sights of downtown San Jose. Besides being walking distance from multiple museums, parks and restaurants, the friendliness of Luis, Kendall and Brandon was a highlight of my stay. With coffee/tea and breakfast included, this is probably the best value in downtown San Jose.

Casa Ridgeway hostel is walking distance from the museums and city parks. There are a few grocery stores within walking distance to buy food to prepare in the kitchen. Has Internet. The lounge and library area of the adjacent Peace center was a quiet area to keep up on business matters over the computer (despite our few days of sightseeing elsewhere in Costa Rica the week earlier). Conversations with other traveling clients were interesting. The personnel were helpful to arrange a late-night Uber ride to the airport for us, at this last stage of our passing through the country. Allow an hour for the ride between the airport and Casa Ridgeway, as rush hour traffic can be congested sometimes.
