Wow, where to begin with Hostal El Dorado. The views from our top floor room and from most of the rooms, by the looks of it, are magnificent. All the staff are so very friendly and helpful. The room itself is big, very clean and very comfortable with very spacious bathroom and balcony. Breakfast is fabulous value and delicious with a good selection of food/drinks and lovely views too. The pool is delightful and so good to have it still open when so many pools are closed. We used it quite a bit in late October. All in all, this must be the best value hostal/hotel in the area.

The room was quite basic but had everything you needed and was excellent value. The staff friendly, it was very clean, the balcony had a great view of San Jose. The breakfast was OK, but again, very good value.

Great location for hiking in the natural park. It's a lovely hostel..can't fault the old style but comfortable and atmospheric accommodation.

I loved the view overlooking San Jose and the sea from our balcony (which was private) Although it looked a distance, it was a lovely walk and not far at all. Our room was at the top of 100 steps, but this just meant we could eat more and work that off. You could drive to the top via the road, so there are options! There was a fridge in the room and stocked with some drinks, which we didn't use as we took our own. The room itself was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even offered to come and clean after I had dropped chilli sauce glass bottles within minutes of us getting there. I refused their offer, but appreciated them wanting to help. Overall, I enjoyed our 3 night stay here and would stay again. (We didn't use the pool or the breakfast area, so, we are unable to comment on those)

Good sized room in great location, big balcony with stunning views. Staff were all lovely, especially Carmen on reception who gave us great recomendations of local places to explore. Pool was a nice treat after a long hot day out and about. We felt our stay was extremely good value for money.

Carmen was a nice host! Location is amazing and the breakfast as well! Shower could use a shower curtain to prevent the whole bathroom being wet but towels get changed everyday! Enjoyed our stay!
