Hotel Overview

Set in the heart of San Gimignano on central Via San Matteo, L'Antico Pozzo is a 15th-century building renovated under the supervision of Italy's Fine Arts. This charming hotel offers stylish, unique rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Recognised as a historical residence, L'Antico Pozzo’s impressive medieval heritage has been carefully preserved. Accommodation also includes air conditioning and a satellite flat-screen TV.
You can drive to the hotel, where you are granted a 20-minute parking permit to unload luggage. The shortest route is via the Porta San Jacopo city gate.
Breakfast is served in an elegant salon, once used for festive gatherings and parties. For dinner, the friendly staff will be happy to recommend one of the many restaurants nearby where you can sample some traditional Tuscan cuisine.

Breakfast was absolutely lovely in the gorgeous sunny courtyard. The location was fabulous and the room felt steeped in history with gorgeous big windows that overlooked the street. You can hear the hustle and bustle of people walking below but in a nice way.

The room is quiet and comfortable and a short walk to all the attractions. The walk up to the hotel is a little strenuous for older folks but one can drive up to the hotel to drop the luggage off if you are early and studied the roads. They allow us to keep our luggage after checking out which is nice!

The hotel is located in an excellent location. The lady at the reception is very kind, she explained everything we were interested in and solved the parking problem. the room was clean and tidy and we will gladly come back.

Fantastic location. Beautiful old building with character. A fascinating cellar beneath it accessible to guests. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast. A lovely outdoor terrace which we would have used if the weather had been warm enough! The staff were all so charming and helpful.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Beautiful renovated bathrooms. Functioning air conditioning and great location. Even had a slice of history with a basement level that went underground with a well. Definitely stay here again just for the standard of the rooms. Close to a western 4-5 star.
