The host and hostess are both very pleasant and helpful. Very good regional breakfast with a bit of daily variety and taken in the garden if the weather is good. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance and Central Park is almost across the road.

The property is amazing, our best experience in Uzbekistan. The owner of our home stay was soo sweet she made us feel like home. The home stay is beautiful, The breakfast served every morning was excellent, and the location of this home stay is amazing.

The rooms were squeaky clean, well appointed, and modern. The host Utkur, and his wife Zenaida are absolutely hands on, and very receptive and responsive. The breakfast is varied and well prepared. In fact Zenaida even took us to the railway station at 5 in the morning so that there was no slip up with a taxi at that unearthly hour. To top it all, she gave us packed breakfast. Would recommend the property any day. As you would know use the Yandex app to book taxis, as they are very reliable and inexpensive. THANK YOU UTKUR AND ZINAIDA

This was the best choice we could have made for our stay in Samarkand! The hospitality, warmth, helpfulness and friendliness of the hosts exceeded all our expectations, we felt like we were staying at our relatives house, not a guest house, and befriended the entire family. Zinaida, her husband and their son were very attentive and responsive to our needs. They took us to a local place to eat THE Samarkand plov (and it was sooo good, no place for tourists can offer), gave us a free ride to and from the railway station, when we traveled to Bukhara. Zinaida made the best homemade breakfast for us at the hours we wanted, and breakfast was served in their garden. They also let us pick and eat cherries from their cherry tree, which was super cool. They have their own small chicken farm, so the eggs they serve are organic and very tasty. The room was clean, neat, spacious and quiet, with a super large bathroom. The windows looked onto the inner garden. We booked a Twin Room, and knew we would have two beds together, but they were large enough to have a good night rest and sleep. We love to walk and found the location of the hotel really great, it's 2 minutes walk to the University Boulevard, 10 minutes walk to Gur-e-Amir Complex, another 10 minutes walk to Registan. The hosts offered us to give a ride to more remote places like The Eternal City. We loved our trip and stay a lot and know that Stariy Marokand is the place we will choose for all our next travels to Samarkand. I have traveled 47 countries, with stays from top rated hotels to campings, and nowhere felt so much at home as here. Me and my husband recommend this place with both hands. I appreciate all the reviews left by other travelers, which were extremely helpful in making our decision to chose this place vs. in a top hotel like Continental.

Very cozy hotel in the historic centre of the city from where you could get everywhere on foot. A lot of good resaturants nearby. At the same time you get additional experience of living in mahalla. The hotel is run by the family and the history of how they started their hotel business is quite interesting. Hotel is very clean, room is spacious. The breakfast is served in the courtyard. The owners are very attentive and friendly. We finished our stay but when we returned several days after in town the hotel kindly allowed us to leave our luggage with them before the flight. Overall very nice experience!

We had a short but memorable stay at this beautifully guest house. The structure is located in a quiet corner of Samarkand, but in a strategic position to reach the main places of interest by walking. The host family transmits a warm sense of hospitality, welcoming guests with kindness and friendliness. They allowed us to choose the room we wanted, the breakfast time and they were available for every request. The tastefully furnished, large and comfortable rooms, equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Cleanliness is impeccable. The breakfast is the best you could wish for to start the day: superb! On the day of departure, as it was very early, they made a delicious packed breakfast for us, and a souvenir as a gift for having been their guests. I seriously regret not having had more time to spend in Samarkand. I would happily return here.
