We stayed in a Standard Double Room (Room 1), which had air conditioning (glorious in Samara in April), and an amazing terrace-balcony with rocking chairs and a hammock. The whole place was spotlessly clean the entire time, and the kitchen was a great place to make food and hang out, and it was great to have coffee there each morning. The pool was a lovely place to cool off, and we really appreciated being able to use it at any time. The yoga terrace is also a really nice space. Andrea was really welcoming and helpful. The hotel is just on the North edge of Samara, but the whole town is so small, it was easy to pop in and out of the hotel between activities, and we saw the local troop of Howler Monkeys passing by a few times just outside the hotel. If I was staying in Samara again I would definitely book this location again, especially since it's just down the road from Roots Bakery.

Great accommodation in beautiful Samara. My four-bed room was upstairs with a small balcony and seating area, making it very spacious for a single person. I particularly liked the well-equipped shared kitchen and the yoga area, which I was also able to use. The beach is just a few minutes walk away. A fantastic experience, and I would come back here again anytime.

We liked that there are a variety of room options, so everyone in the family could have a rooms that was best for them. The common kitchen is great, we met lots of other travelers there. The pool is cool and refreshing, and a nice place to gather to visit.

The room was spacious, plenty of facilities and our terrace was large and comfortable. We loved our dips in the pool after being out and about in the heat. We slept very well, with the only disturbance being the howler monkeys and the dawn chorus, which we really enjoyed! Indigo the cat also called for breakfast at 06.00, which was a nice surprise. The location is less than 10 mins to the wonderful beach, and closer to many restaurants, shops and bars.

This was one of my best stays during the whole 10 day trip to CR and NOT the most expensive either - Excellent value for money. My room didn't have AC but I was fine with the fan, shower with hot water, clean room with towel + beach towel, the pool was super nice. I just liked the feel of the whole place with all the trees and vegetation, so 'peaceful' and 'relaxing'. The kitchen is super well equipped, they have everything you need and more (even a charcoal BBQ), it's also super clean. The communal area made it easy to meet other guests if you were travelling alone. I met some very nice people during my stay. The owner also cooked for the staff and they had lunch together while I was there, which I thought was a nice gesture from the management. There is also a security guard at night and a gate at the entrance. I really enjoyed my time at Tico Adventure Lodge.

The room was clean and well equipped. We loved the hammock and chairs on the deck. Its position was perfect, a 5 minute walk to the beach, the restaurants and shops. Staff were helpful and let us borrow a boogie board for the beach. We would definitely recommend staying.

Loved our treetop apartment with a huge deck where we could have our meals and hang out. Office staff were extremely helpful for recommending restaurants and booking day trips. Sweet kitten on the property. We missed the yoga class, but looked good. Short walk to beach and restaurants.

We loved this lodge! It's very charming, clean, the garden is lush and well maintained. The swimming pool is perfect, it was so nice to always have the opportunity to cool down. The owner is a lovely lady, always ready to help and interesting to talk to. The staff was fantastic. We rented the Ranchos room with a shared bathroom and we were very content. The room was bigger than on the photos. Very pleasant terrace and great view. The room is located next to the road so be ready to hear it. But overall we got an excellent value for the money we paid (we booked it several months ahead). We came for a month and we're a family of 4. We travel on budget. This place totally exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it!

- Quiet location with easy walking access to beach, restaurants, bars, bus stop, Saturday market, and town center. - clean and comfortable - Thoughtful, functional details: always fresh brewed Costa Rican coffee available, well-equipped kitchen, fridges in other buildings, securely gated property with security guard, plenty of towels - excellent service, responsive, knowledgeable staff - beautiful property, feels like you’re staying in the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse - hot water showers -best rates in town (I used to live in Samara and still visit often)
