Staying on the barge was our little family adventure while working away. The boat was spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for 4 of us and my toddler loved exploring all the levels and interesting spaces on the boat. The location is great. There is a lovely pub just across the canal serving delicious food. There’s a great play park nearby as well as a cafe. The last night of our stay there there was a storm and we were worried that the boat would sway a lot and make us all sick. It didn’t, it was surprisingly sturdy and steady. Our overall experience was very positive.

The spot is awesome, with cozy local pub in the neighborhood, shops are close. And the smal town is fabulous.

If you want something different. Then this is the place for you.. Location. Quiet. Station walking distance. Cafe & Pub across the road. Supermarket close by as well.

Staying on this boat such a fab thing to do. It has two super-comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen. It’s so roomy and we lived watching the fish and ducks swim by. There are 2 coffee shops, 2 supermarkets, 4 pubs and the train to Dublin is 35 mins!

This was a really niche place to stay - something 'different'! It wasn't too far out from Dublin, about 40 mins, but since we had a car this was fine, and the location was very nice, including being close to an excellent bistro pub and cafe's/coffee shops and a supermarket. There were excellent facilities (lots of plugs for charging phones, etc) and the place was very clean. The bathroom was really interesting and you just had to educate yourself about how to use it!

The barge is well equipped and good layout with enough space for a family of four. The kitchen is a good size as is the dining/sitting area. The beds were very comfortable. The village of Sallins is a good location for other larger towns like Naas and Newbridge and Sallins itself has v good train links The new Greenway is a fun way to get out and about on bikes and see the local countryside It was quiet at night and there were never any issues with noise Ger was on hand to answer any questions and help with bike hire etc

Fantastic location. Really interesting place to stay. The boat was very clean and the fact the fire was lit before we arrived was a lovely touch.

Amazing time ,location, view was beautiful ger is a gentleman very accommodating, we had a teary eyed teenager when leaving really is a magical experience looking forward to returning again
