Lovely historic hotel with tons of character. Room was beautiful and had a modern bathroom and shower. Staff were friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Parking permits are available on site for overnight parking in local car parks. The mattress could have been comfier and was quite firm but not uncomfortable by any means. The metal on the shower screen had rusted somewhat (I assume a cheaper fitting) which doesn’t look brilliant aesthetically, but I could see evidence of where they had tried to clean this off.

Reception very welcoming. Lounge comfortable with refreshment available. Large room as requested and very comfortable. Excellent choice at breakfast bar. Staff obliging throughout stay. Anniversary of first night of our honeymoon 60 years ago - not disappointed.

Well kept old building, enjoyed the old features, comfortable bed, spacious room, very clean. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was alright, had a fair choice, not amazing, but not bad.

Room was a decent size but a little "tired". However, very clean and the bed was larger than expected (great!) and very comfortable.

Room was comfortable. Step to bathroom a little dodgy for when you need the toilet in the night. Great breakfast. Lots of choice and cooked breakfast very subsantial

It wasn't a dislike as such, but one of the bedside lamps wasn't working well, and the cold water tap for the bathroom basin wasn't working either. This said, we did report it. The Hotel very kindly offered us an additional hour FOC. So all good thank you
