The Burundian waiter (I don't know his name, I didn't ask) was very welcoming. I liked the place, the view, the food, the cottage smoothie, the breakfast was awesome. The only issue was that we didn't stay for long :)

This place! We have just arrived back from an incredible 12 days at Vintage Cottage. My gosh, where to begin?! From the amazing room, to the excellent food and setting. BUT, what surpasses everything, (if it's possible, because the above things really are fabulous!!) Is the people that work there. They are immediately like family, so attentive and go absolutely above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We swam in the lake, used their free kayak, had our own little cabana with thick comfy mattress, they lit us a fire every night by our table and absolutely thought about every detail to make our stay possibly the best ever. (...and we travel a LOT!) Kami, (the manager) helped us arrange trips as we didn't plan much prior - he was so very helpful and without his help we wouldn't have had the experiences we did) From sitting with gorillas, to a hot air balloon ride and amazing safari, (where we saw everything bar the illusive leopard) - he was just amazing at assisting us with anything we wanted to do and see. Celestine, made us feel like royalty. Words can't explain just how amazing this man made us feel. So attentive, so warm and kind, and he was ready with what ever we needed BEFORE we even thought about it! This place is truly magical. If you read reviews and take advice from them, then please, trust me and go stay here. You absolutely won't regret one second of it. We have already booked to return. Something I've never done in my life! Vintage Cottage is firmly the best place I've stayed. They deserve the 'exceptional' Booking.com reward. Absolutely 10/10. 👌

Second time at this hotel. It use to be in a very calm and relaxing area. This time there were a lot of people from Kigali here over the weekend partying. But since my room was in good distance from restaurant, I could sleep. It is soo beautifyl area, fantastic waiter in the restaurant and the rooms are lovely.

The view of the lake, kindliness of staff, rustic and « chill-out » feel of the place, the cheer numbers of birds to observe, the hot shower pressure, the spa, the fact that there was a trampoline and swings for the kids, the boat tour…
