It was a beautiful destination to visit and stay at. We arrived late and keys were waiting for us on door at reception. Quite, right by lake and beautiful view. Will visit again.

We picked this place for the serenity and to get away from the noise and bustle of Rotorua and it delivered in that in spades. The motel is situated at the end of 7 klms of narrow tarred road through a forested area. The view from our window to the lake was magnificent. The motel is in need of repair but is still comfortable.

My new favourite place in New Zealand- this place is literally paradise! The lake is crystal clear for swimming and the walking tracks/ running trails are incredible. I loved that there was information about walks left in my room- such a nice thing to do for guests who don't know the area; it prompted me to go for a run and discover the best forest running trails I've experienced in a long time. The hotel is great too, the bed was super comfy, my room was right by the lake with an incredible view, everything was clean and the room was well stocked. The lady on reception in the morning was really lovely and helpful too. I'll definitely be back for a longer stay with my partner and dog!

Beautiful location overlooking the lake, the drive through the narrow, winding, native forest was a welcome surprise. Our room was clean and tidy with plenty of beds. Wifi available through the mobile phone provided, smart TV, just a few metres from the lake, bush walks...

We booked this stay for the location. We loved the fact that the lodge was tucked away and secluded, offering serenity and relaxation (however, beware of the long windy road that leads down to the lodge, which can be intimidating). The grounds were absolutely stunning - with amazing views of the mountains and the lake. There is a beach and a lake for swimming. You can even see glow worms in the water at night during certain times of the year. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Laundry facilities on-site was a plus.

It is a beautiful location. The staff were friendly. The room had beautiful views of the lake. The room amenities were satisfactory.
