The fine print
According to the Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years of age cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. If a minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it is necessary to present a written authorisation for the minor to check into the hotel. Such authorisation must be notarised and signed by both parents, and presented along with notarised copies of their IDs.All minors under 18 years of age also need to present a valid ID with photo, to prove their identity and that of his/her parents. This must be presented even if a minor is accompanied by his/her parents.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

It was my first time in Rio and I was travelling alone. I was worried to not meet people quickly enough to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I quickly realised I was worried for no reason. As soon as I arrived, the friendly staff at the reception welcomed me, introduced me to other travellers and I quickly became friends with the others in my room. On new years, el Misti organised a pre-party and we jointly walked with flags and music to Copacabana. What an experience!! Next week, I will come back, 5 stars!!

Great place to stay in Ipanema! We had a private room and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Clean, well equipped and nice and quiet. Staff also helped book some tours for us. Cheap and tasty breakfast too.

Great location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The staff at the hostel were very welcoming, and it's a great place to meet people and hang out with them. Very social hostel and astravelo traveller I met some amazing new friends

The property was cleaned regularly by staff and there were great house rules in place to ensure no sand in bedrooms etc. the rooms were quiet, even when there was music and drinking downstairs. It was easy to get an early nights sleep if needed. there were constantly different things happening to include solo travellers and encourage friendships. The staff were wonderful. Very welcoming and friendly. Always happy to help.

I don't normally like hostels but this is a good un. Clean, modern and safe. Location is ideal. Staff very friendly and helpful (shoutout legends), sociable scene but not crazy. Definitely reccommend.
