We couldn't believe our luck when this place was available over New Year. It is about as central as you can get - 5 minutes walk to Hallgrimskirkja (and the most bonkers fireworks on NYE I've ever seen) and all the main tourist spots are within 20 minutes walk. Iceland is never going to be called cheap but this was by far the best value (price & location) for a private room and private bath we saw on multiple sites for the time of year. The room itself is very large and clean, as is the bathroom and shower. Cooking facilities are basic but as described and shown in the photos. Even though it was very cold (-10C/14F) the room temperature was always perfect without us messing with any controls. Our room was 2 floors up from ground level with spiral stairs but we got a large case up them with no issue. Except for New Years Eve we didn't have any problems with noise - and even then it was only when someone let off a box of fireworks directly outside at 5AM that we woke up!! We love to visit local pools in Iceland and Sundhollin (about 10 minutes walk) is a great option from here. We even saw fireworks from the hot tubs!

Location is perfect! Really close to the church. You have so many stores and restaurants right at your footstep. The apartment is very big and has everything you need. We were happy with our choice. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.

Location was excellent. Felt like home away from home. Heating in the apartment was perfect. Kitchen was fully equipped. Just few minutes away from the church, shops and eateries.
