Lovely village setting on the River Thames, quiet and close to Reading. A very old inn (14th century I think) with low ceilings, beams, wonky floors and steep stairs. A warm welcome was given and although parking is limited, we were able to park right outside. The bedroom was a comfortable size and the bathroom had a walk-in shower. The room was a little tired, it was in need of some decorating (cracks in the walls and ceilings) but considering its age, it was hardly surprising. The bed was very comfy, so a good nights sleep was had by us both. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent, we were very impressed. Breakfast was also more than adequate but nothing amazing. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

Lovely old pub. Friendly staff. Great extras in the room, beer, prosecco and chocolates. Nice modern bathroom. Good food and breakfast.

On arriving in England you couldn’t get a more original experience. In a small village area with a church next door ( they even practiced ringing the bells and walks along the river close by. The rooms are compact as would be expected of a property of this age but everything has a place. Extremely comfortable. Food excellent quality and staff were so helpful.

Beautiful property lovely facilities and room. Nice little touches in the room Coffee maker chocolates beer etc. breakfast was lovely and The beer at the bar lovely too

A bath and maybe richer buffet breakfast would have meant a 10 out of 10. But absolutely no complaint. We were on a journey break so this was better than expected.
