The hotel definitely deserves the 5* rating. Everything from the very beginning to the end was perfect except for the weather (but no one can influence that). Our villa on the water was very luxurious and comfortable. During the entire stay, Zaha watched over us, she was a wonderful host, the best we have ever had. She took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. The food at the hotel was delicious and varied. A large selection of alcohol was also available.

Veligandu is an extraordinary resort for people looking for a totally peaceful holiday without people shouting, kids screaming around and loud music. It’s truly heaven if you’re looking for silence and complete relaxation. However if you’re someone looking for some partying and/or want to take small kids with you, this is not the most appropriate resort (fortunately). The best thing about Veligandu is the food. Every single meal is a 10/10, high quality ingredients and carefully prepared meals. It makes Veligandu on par with many fine dining and even Michelin guide restaurants across the world, even beating some of them. After renovations, the facilities and infrastructure turned out incredible, our ocean villa was out of this world, we couldn’t believe it when we walked in. Truly spectacular. The staff is super nice, and a special thanks to Nawal which was in charge of our villa and cleaning services. He did a superb job.

Our stay at Veligandu Island Resort was absolute perfection! The water villa was incredible, blending comfort and elegance with stunning views. Being able to step directly into the turquoise lagoon from our deck was an experience we’ll never forget. The dining experience was exceptional – each meal was a feast of flavors with fresh, high-quality ingredients. From themed buffet nights to the romantic beachside dinner, the variety and presentation were outstanding. Veligandu is a true paradise – serene, luxurious, and unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

We had the time of our lives there! The food was excellent, and the villas were in very good condition, offering an exceptional experience. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us, and our host - Jaadhe was absolutely fantastic.

Definitely a holiday to remember, the island is beautiful, the choice of food is excellent, the staff are lovely, the rooms are amazing, the facilities/bars/entertainment is top notch. We would absolutely recommend this island, it’s my 5th time in the Maldives and we picked a good one in Veligandu. The sea life is amazing, one of the best reefs I’ve visited and we could also see so much from our water villa, we saw rays, sharks, turtles, octopus and so many fishes. We did a few of the snorkelling excursions which are definitely worth it if you want to see more marine life! Also a great diver centre although we didn’t try it we saw a lot of people using it and they were all super friendly! We stayed one week in a beach villa which was on the sunset side of the island and also the breezy side (which was a lovely thing when it was really hot!), then we stayed a week in a water villa on the sunrise side of the island which was amazing. The pool and beach facilities were also great, there’s sun beds on the sand bank if you want a change of scenery from the sun beds outside your villa, which is not a common thing on many island and is a great feature. We went for all inclusive which I would recommend as there was only a couple of things not included (nothing necessary) and means there’s no stress about spending anything extra, meaning even more relaxation on holiday. I saw a few reviews prior to coming saying some of the rooms are a bit dated but we didn’t feel that at all! Yes it’s not a brand new island but it’s extremely well kept and the rooms all felt brand new still. A perfect sized island, not too big and not too small, the only time you see other people is at breakfast lunch and dinner! Truly a secluded island getaway!

This was one of our best experiences we ever had. We stayed for our honeymoon in the jacuzzi water villa with the sunset view. There are no words to describe how amazing the staff at this resort is. Thank you so much for making this trip so memorable and special for us!! Our host Alena was amazing, sweet and caring. The island is perfectly maintained, it is soo clean! Room service is done 2 times a day and was done extremely professionally. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. I am allergic to mushrooms, and the stuff was really keen to prepare the same dish without them if I asked. I didn’t even needed to mention it again to the cooks as they remembered about my allergy and made sure I do not pick up some inappropriate dish accidentally in the following days of stay! Furthermore, head chef did quite a good job on creating a wonderful menu for a breakfast, lunch, buffer dinner and Christmas gala dinner! We were seriously impressed by the variety of food and interesting combinations of flavours!! Thank you so much! We have been to other two five-star resorts in Maldives, and honestly it is not even comparable! We met guests on Veligandu island, who had their second or third time stay here. I believe that if people are choosing the same resort again and again this indicates something.❤️ The island is quite small, but we were never bored here. We really enjoyed the house reef, because it is full of life! We saw turtles, different types of rays, ocellaris clownfish and many other types of fish, baby sharks and crabs are everywhere!! 🦀🦈 And finally, the bananas growing on this island are literally out of this world!!so tasty! 🍌 This resort is a true paradise!🏝️
