Name one homestay in India that provides its guests with toiletries, fresh towels, slippers, tea-coffee-power milk sachets, an electric cattle, a mini fridge (yes, you heard it right), an iron and an ironing board, a big cupboard with plenty of hangers and extra blankets and pillows? The short answer in Nandini Cottages. The Himalayan view from the rooms and the balcony is breathtaking. The size of the room is much bigger than most flats in our cities. The hospitality of the staff is soooo homely. The complimentary breakfast is great with lots of options. They also cook a handful of dishes for lunch and dinner and the prices are reasonable. The caretakers -- Rajendar and Pramood -- are very efficient and helpful. They always have smiles in their faces, no matter what. On reaching the property, they will receive you at the entrance downstairs and carry all your luggage to your room before helping you with your parking (the property has ample private parking space). On entering the property what one immediately notice is the kind of detailing that has gone into making the homestay on a par with any luxury hotel. Every inch is made with care. Be it the small library, or the photographs/ paintings hung on the walls, the garden/open seating area, the children's play area, the exterior or the interior lighting, the viewpoint, the hiking trail at the backyard, etc. Overall, Nandini Cottages surpassed my expectation. It's the best homestay I've every stayed at.

I recently stayed at Nandini Cottage in Ranikhet and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in lush greenery with stunning Himalayan views, the serene environment was the perfect escape from city life. The cottage was beautifully maintained, clean, and cozy, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, providing delicious home-cooked meals and great local recommendations. The lovely garden and clear, starry skies added to the charm. Overall, Nandini Cottage offered the perfect blend of comfort, nature, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for a peaceful retreat. We can’t wait to return!
Ravi “It was an exceeding expectations experience”
Travelling through Kumaon hills we just stayed at this Lovely homestay and what a delightful experience it has been ! Initially we were not very keen to stay at a homestay due to their limitations in providing comfort, but it was a surprise to find that Nandini provided all the luxurious comfort provided by resorts and more with personal touch. The rooms r very spacious with balconies providing a view of valley and forest. All amenities like complimentary tea & coffee sachets in the room and complimentary Toiletries in the bath were provided which is surprising for a homestay. Attention to small things like putting stickers on electric switches was really helpful. The food was really tasty and served with personal attention. The location of the cottage is superb giving a birds view of the entire valley in front ... we were told that Himalayan peaks r clearly visible from the Cottage though we could not see it due to heavy clouds ... would like to Come again after monsoons to hav a leisure time with view of snow peaks in front ... would definitely recommend
