Chouddidou “Beautiful spot in Pinnawala”
Beautiful little place in Pinnawala. A few excellently converted shipping containers and a lovely little chalet (our spot) make up the site, which sits next to banana trees and rice paddies. Great to hear peacocks roosting in the trees opposite. The chalet seems very new and was lovely inside and out, with a kitchen, little living room and bedroom with air con. Anula and her husband were absolutely wonderful, she made us a lovely dinner at night which they served to us on our porch. Wifi is okay as well. Great advantage of this place is that breakfast/use of pool overlooking the river is provided at the neighbouring Grand Royal hotel. The short walk between the two places is gorgeous. Breakfast is a buffet with lots of different options, including pancake/waffle/French toast station!! The river which runs alongside the hotel is the bathing spot for all the elephants at the orphanage in the town, so we were delighted to watch them play in the rain from the restaurant/poolside balcony. Would easily recommend! Thanks Anula and co.
Aoife “Friendliest staff I’ve ever met”
The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay. The Accomodation was great, our room had a full kitchenette with a little sitting area and a large bedroom and bathroom. We had a lovely porch overlooking the rice fields. The breakfast was amazing at the main hotel and the view from the pool was truly spectacular.
Adam “The best place in sri lanka if you love nature 😍”
The best thing about this place is the manager and the entire staff. The rooms are clean, located in a unique banana orchard in the middle of nature. If you want to see elephants, go there, during breakfast, for free. And if you want to take care of an elephant, the manager will organize such a trip for you. The swimming pool, from which you can also see the elephants, is included in the price. We were in Sri Lanka for one month and it was our best place. we love you and thank you for everything!
