Cumbaya, a valley merely 20 minutes away from Quito, but the whole 450 meters lower than the capital was my escape and refuge from altitude sickness from which I suffered. Feeling rather ill I spend most of my time in the room ... and bed. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was Western-style, which I really appreciated. But above all the room was warm. Not only didn´t I need any extra electric heater (a must in Quito) but I could sleep with a window opened. In addition, the location was great and so was the breakfast.
