Great value for money. Rooms were small but comfortable. Very clean and towels changed daily.The breakfast was simple but filling and both members of staff we encountered were very helpful, courteous and friendly. The guesthouse is positioned on a steep hill and the top front deluxe rooms have a small balcony with a partial view of bridge and river and just a stones throw from the historic Ribeira district.

The location was excellent in a quiet neighbourhood but only 100m from the Douro near the main tourist sites and the cost below average considering the location. The room was very well-equipped and had excellent decor. It was on the small side, but bijou rather than cramped. Only continental breakfast was available, it was very good quality, but the choice was somewhat limited. Not strictly related to the guest house itself; there was an excellent family-run restaurant "Bom Tahler" right next to the property -- excellent quality at an economical price and a very friendly patron
